Design Service Terms

Please read the following carefully. By submitting a request for a Grade D fire detection & fire alarm system design, you acknowledge and agree to these Terms & Conditions.

1. Service Provider

This FireAngel design service is facilitated by FireAngel Safety Technology Limited (FireAngel) and delivered by Rely on Fire Check Ltd (ROFC), a BAFE Registered Organisation (ID: 301170). FireAngel does not carry out or certify design work. Professional liability, insurance cover, and certification obligations rest with ROFC.

2. Scope of Service

The design service is available within the United Kingdom, is free of charge and is restricted solely to Grade D fire detection & fire alarm systems for domestic buildings in accordance with BS 5839-6.

The service does not extend to installation, commissioning, maintenance, or other Grades of fire alarm design.

3. Product & Specification Validity

The design is only valid when the products specified in the design are utilised. Any change or substitution of products not manufactured by FireAngel will:

• Invalidate the design;
• Invalidate any insurance relied upon by ROFC for the design service;
• Invalidate any certification or declaration of conformity issued to BS 5839-6 and/or BAFE DS301.

4. Deliverables

Upon completion of a design, you will receive:

• A System Overview;
• Design drawings;
• Wiring schematic;
• BS 5839-6 Design Certificate;
• Modular BAFE DS301 Design Certificate;
• A Schedule of Variations (where applicable).

The completed design package will be:

• Issued to you via email using the contact details provided at submission; and
• Shared with your selected FireAngel Approved stockist, enabling them to prepare and provide you with a quotation for the specified system equipment.

5. Timescales

We endeavour to complete your design within five (5) working days of receiving your submission. This timeframe is subject to:

• The completeness of the information provided at the point of submission;
• The need for any clarification or additional information;
• Our current design workload and request volumes.
• In such cases, timescales may be extended without liability.

6. Insurance

ROFC holds the required level of insurance to perform these design activities on all domestic buildings, including those defined as “high risk buildings” under the Building Safety Act.

Current cover includes £10 million Professional Indemnity Insurance.

7. Limitations of Liability

This design service is provided in good faith and in line with the information submitted by you. The liability of ROFC under this design service shall not exceed the level of its Professional Indemnity Insurance in force at the time of the claim. Neither ROFC, nor FireAngel shall be liable for:

• Losses arising from incomplete, inaccurate, or misleading information provided by you;
• Losses resulting from the use of non-specified or non-FireAngel products;
• Indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, including but not limited to loss of profit, business interruption, or reputational damage;
• Losses arising from failure to install, commission, or maintain the system in accordance with the design and applicable standards.

8. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for ensuring that all information supplied for the design request is complete and accurate.

You are responsible for ensuring that the design is implemented in accordance with BS 5839-6 and all relevant regulatory requirements.
